Overview of changes

  • Added pattern slider.
  • Added mix layers.
  • Added a track mixing popup.
  • Added Play/Record buttons
  • Fix bug where DrumStar could hang when playback stops.

pattern slider

The pattern slider lets you adjust the timing and length of the current pattern. It works well if you like to record a pattern first and adjust it to fit the length of the pattern later. Drag the bar to adjust the timing of all notes. Drag the right edge of the bar to stretch the current pattern.

mix layers

Mix layers can be used to mix together multiple samples. For example if you’ve recorded drums using multiple microphones, you could assign each version to a different mix layer. Assign the samples to mix layers using the sample editor. You can then mix them using the track mixing popup described below.

track mixing popup

Right click on one of the track buttons at the far left to adjust the mix levels for that track. You’ll be able to adjust random velocity, random timing, mix layers, and aux send levels for the selected track.

play/record buttons

The play button determines whether the sequencer plays or not.
The record button determines whether midi notes get recorded by the sequencer. (The samples must be assigned to midi notes in the sample editor for this to work.)
